Morocco to Host Global Youth Football Program by LaLiga and EA SPORTS
Rabat – La Liga and EA SPORTS are set to host the next-gen Drafts program in Morocco from March 27 to 29, 2026, giving young players a chance to showcase their skills and experience professional-training.
This initiative is a part of EA SPORTS FC FUTURES, a long-term project focused on investing in grassroots football and creating opportunities for the next generation.
The program is structured in four stages. It begins with the FC Rush tournament, where participants compete in 5v5 matches inspired by EA Sports FC gameplay.
LaLiga scouts will evaluate technical ability, vision, and sportsmanship, selecting 50 players – 25 boys and 25 girls, for the next round.
These players then enter the FC Futures Academy, where they receive personalized training from UEFA PRO-Licensed La Liga coaches using official methods. From there, 32 players advance to the final match, an 118-a-side game against a local team.
Performance on the pitch is important, but values such as teamwork, resilience, and commitment also matter.
Finally, eight players (four boys and four girls) will earn a spot in the LaLiga Experience in Spain, where they will train with academy teams, play friendlies, and immerse themselves in elite European clubs.
Morocco’s inclusion in the program shows the country’s growing importance in youth football development. Alongside Mexico, Japan, Nigeria, and China, Morocco will host part of the 2026 edition before the final stage in Spain.
In total, around 900 young players worldwide will participate, making this one of the most ambitious youth scouting projects in football.
Beyond competitions, EA SPORTS FC FUTURES invests in communities by supporting over 15 partner programs, donating equipment in more than 10 countries, and offering a free online library of training exercises for coaches.
The initiative also funds the renovation of football pitches in underserved areas, with past projects completed in Spain, South Africa, Singapore, Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico.
These efforts aim to provide safe spaces for young people and strengthen football’s role in local communities.
By bringing Next Gen Drafts to Morocco, LaLiga and EA SPORTS are not only scouting talent but also reinforcing the country’s place in the global football ecosystem.
For Moroccan youth, this is a rare chance to step onto an international stage and potentially begin a journey toward professional football.
