The African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA) has officially announced the appointment of Mr. Justin Bgoni as its Vice President, effective October 2, 2026. Mr. Bgoni currently serves as the Group Chief Executive Officer of ZSE Holdings—overseeing the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE), the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange (VFEX), and the Zimbabwe Entrepreneurship Exchange (ZEEX)—and serves as the interim CEO of the Victoria Falls International Financial Centre.

His election to executive leadership at ASEA comes as member exchanges across the continent deepen collaboration, enhance inter-exchange liquidity, and advocate for seamless cross-border investment frameworks. Working alongside newly appointed leadership, Mr. Bgoni will help guide ASEA’s strategic objectives to scale African capital markets globally and leverage technology-driven market infrastructure.

Bringing over 24 years of extensive international finance, management, and executive leadership experience, Mr. Bgoni has held prominent roles across Zimbabwe, South Africa, and New Zealand. His career highlights include serving as Chief Financial Officer of the New Zealand Stock Exchange, a Management Consultant at McKinsey & Company, and Director of Private Equity at FNB.

“I am deeply honored to step into the role of Vice President of the African Securities Exchanges Association,” said Mr. Bgoni. “Capital markets have a pivotal role to play in unlocking economic growth, facilitating sustainable investments, and strengthening regional connectivity across Africa. I look forward to working closely with our President, member exchanges, and regional partners to accelerate capital mobility and deliver tailored financial infrastructure solutions that meet Africa’s distinct market opportunities.”

A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Zimbabwe and a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, Mr. Bgoni holds a Bachelor of Accounting Science (cum laude) from UNISA and a Master in Finance (cum laude) from the University of Wellington, New Zealand.
