BLOOMBERG TO ANCHOR MAJOR CLIMATE, ENERGY, AND FINANCE GATHERINGS DURING LONDON CLIMATE ACTION WEEK
NEW YORK AND LONDON, June 4, 2026 — Michael R. Bloomberg, UN Special Envoy on Climate Ambition and Solutions and founder of Bloomberg L.P. and Bloomberg Philanthropies, today announced a full slate of Bloomberg-supported convenings and events across London Climate Action Week (LCAW) 2026. Delivered in partnership with the Mayor of London, the City of London Corporation, London Climate Action Week organizers, and leading international partners, these efforts reinforce Bloomberg’s longstanding commitment to advancing climate progress in London and globally.
As governments, businesses, and cities navigate growing geopolitical and economic uncertainty, London Climate Action Week has emerged as an increasingly influential global forum for climate and energy leadership — bringing together decision-makers across public policy, finance, business, and civil society to strengthen collaboration, advance practical solutions, and help shape international priorities ahead of COP31.
Michael R. Bloomberg, UN Special Envoy on Climate Ambition and Solutions and founder of Bloomberg L.P. and Bloomberg Philanthropies, said: “With climate change growing more deadly and destructive, and an energy crisis underscoring the economic and security imperatives of clean power, the benefits of action have never been clearer. London Climate Action Week will bring together leaders from around the world who are finding innovative new ways to tackle the challenge, and Mayor Sadiq Khan - who has launched bold initiatives that cut emissions and air pollution while also improving people’s lives - is the perfect host. London is our company’s second home, and we’re looking forward to joining forces with him and many others to share ideas and speed up progress.”
Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said: “London is leading the way on climate action, from cleaning up our air to planting thousands more trees and working to make our rivers swimmable - I’m proud of the work we’ve achieved, which shows that with bold policies, positive change is possible as we build a greener London for everyone. At this year’s London Climate Action Week, I look forward to meeting with leaders and policymakers to drive global change and unlock health and social benefits for people around the world.
“Bloomberg’s longstanding commitment to climate action in London has helped bring together leaders across business, finance, cities, and government - further strengthening our role as a global centre for climate action and cooperation ahead of COP31 and beyond.”
Bloomberg L.P. and Bloomberg Philanthropies will help anchor the week through major gatherings focused on energy transition, sustainable finance, local leadership, climate innovation, and international cooperation. Across the week, Bloomberg-supported events are expected to bring together heads of state, ministers, mayors, governors, business executives, investors, philanthropies, and climate leaders from around the world.
Now in its eighth year, London Climate Action Week has become Europe’s largest city-wide climate gathering, bringing together nearly 50,000 participants across more than 700 events. Increasingly, it is serving as a key global platform between annual UN Climate Conferences – helping sustain momentum, strengthen partnerships, and support collaboration across sectors and geographies ahead of COP31.
June 23: Guildhall - Energy Transition, Climate Innovation, and Local Leadership
Tuesday, June 23, will serve as the centerpiece of Bloomberg’s engagement during the week, anchored by a series of major convenings focused on the global energy transition, climate innovation, and local climate action at Guildhall in the heart of London’s Square Mile.
To kick off the day, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres will deliver a landmark address on the global response to the climate and energy crises in one of the final major climate speeches of his term as Secretary-General. Hosted by Mike Bloomberg in his capacity as the Secretary-General’s Special Envoy, the address will focus on accelerating the clean energy transition, strengthening energy security, advancing resilience and adaptation, and reinforcing international cooperation amid a world in flux.
Following the Secretary-General’s address, The Earthshot Prize and Bloomberg Philanthropies will host the Earthshot Prize Impact Assembly, bringing together Earthshot Prize Finalists and Winners for a series of major announcements alongside investors, philanthropies, business executives, and public-sector leaders focused on scaling the impact of innovative environmental solutions.
Later that day, Bloomberg Philanthropies will power the Local Climate Action Summit in partnership with C40 Cities, the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy, Breathe Cities, the Under2 Coalition, and others. Building on the Local Climate Action Summits hosted at COP28 and COP30, the convening will bring together mayors and governors from around the world to strengthen collaboration among local, national, and international leaders and highlight the increasingly influential role cities and states are playing in advancing global climate and energy priorities.
The International Energy Agency (IEA) and the COP31 Presidency will also convene their second High-Level Energy Transition Dialogue on 23 June at Bloomberg’s European Headquarters in London, bringing together ministers and senior leaders from government, industry, and international organizations around the world to advance energy priorities ahead of COP31 in Antalya.
Together, the day’s events will bring global political, financial, and local leaders to the center of London for one of the week’s highest-profile gatherings focused on climate and energy leadership.
Sustainable Finance
With investment increasingly central to the global energy transition, Bloomberg Philanthropies will also support several of the week’s leading finance and investment convenings, working alongside partners including the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ) and the Global Capacity Building Coalition (GCBC).
Lady Mayor of the City of London, Dame Susan Langley, said: “The City of London Corporation is proud to host the Net Zero Delivery Summit as part of London Climate Action Week, bringing together finance, business and policymakers to help accelerate the transition. Bloomberg’s partnership and deep roots in the City will help strengthen the week’s global reach and reinforce London’s role in mobilising the investment and partnerships needed to deliver meaningful, system-wide transformation.”
Throughout the week, Bloomberg-supported events and initiatives will convene leaders from business, finance, and government to help scale investment in clean energy, industry, and infrastructure, strengthen enabling environments and country platforms, build capacity in emerging markets, and expand investment opportunities tied to the climate transition and resilience.
Key engagements will include:
-
Net Zero Delivery Summit: Hosted by the City of London Corporation, the Summit will bring together global climate and finance leaders to discuss ways to mobilize investment at scale and address the multi-trillion-dollar financing gap required to meet global climate and energy goals.
-
UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative Global Roundtable: One of the UN’s largest sustainable finance gatherings, the convening will explore this year’s theme, “From Risk to Resilience: Financing the Future,” and how financial institutions can help mobilize investment, strengthen resilience, and support sustainable growth amid rising global challenges.
-
COP30 to COP31 Leadership Dialogue: Co-hosted by UNEP FI, ANBIMA, CNseg, and FEBRABAN, and held in partnership with PRI and GFANZ, the dialogue will focus on scaling finance and insurance solutions for mitigation, adaptation, resilience, and loss and damage protection throughout the COP30–COP31 cycle.
-
Türkiye Energy Transition Investment Forum: Hosted alongside the Investment and Finance Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, Bloomberg and Bloomberg Philanthropies, and Energy Shift Capital, the Forum will bring together institutional investors, family offices, and energy companies to focus on Türkiye's growing role as a powerhouse for investment. The event will highlight opportunities to connect European capital markets with emerging opportunities ahead of COP31, which will take place in Antalya.
Bloomberg Across London Climate Action Week
Bloomberg’s presence at LCAW 2026 will extend across London through additional convenings, partnerships, and public-facing initiatives designed to broaden participation and reinforce the week’s growing international significance.
Nick Mabey, Founder of London Climate Action Week, said: “London Climate Action Week comes as the world faces its second fossil fuel price shock in under five years and sees calls from politicians in the UK and abroad to abandon climate action. But LCAW will showcase a different reality where despite growing geopolitical fragmentation new coalitions are being built among governments, businesses, investors and citizens to accelerate action to tackle the climate and nature crisis. LCAW has grown exponentially over the last few years to become the world’s largest independent climate festival and has inspired many other climate action weeks to be created around the world. LCAW 2026 will host the Türkiye, Australian, Fiji and Brazilian COP Presidencies helping them to align and animate diplomatic action towards this year's climate summit.”
Additional Bloomberg-supported events include the Future Streets Forum, co-hosted by Bloomberg Associates, the Mayor of London, and The Crown Estate, bringing together leading voices in urban design, transport, property, and placemaking to explore how streets can drive economic growth, social connection, and environmental progress across cities worldwide.
Bloomberg will support the Climate Innovation Forum, the flagship opening event of London Climate Action Week, which brings together 2,500 leaders from business, policy, and finance to scale climate and nature solutions and accelerate implementation, as well as the Opportunity Summit, a flagship, solution-led event, hosted by Climate Group in partnership with the Mayor of London. The Summit convenes senior leaders from business, government, and civil society to advance Europe’s next phase of climate-aligned growth and clean energy competitiveness.
Bloomberg Philanthropies is also partnering with the London Climate Action Week Secretariat and Project Everyone to support the continued growth, global reach, and long-term impact of the event.
