Royal Air Maroc Boosts Northern Morocco Connectivity with New Direct Flights to Europe

Rabat – Royal Air Maroc announced today it is continuing its point-to-point expansion to boost connectivity to northern Morocco with new routes linking the region to Europe.

The airline announced three additional direct and regular routes that will link Tangier to Malaga, Barcelona, and Madrid.

Three other regular air routes will also connect Nador to Barcelona, Frankfurt, and Düsseldorf.

Royal Air Maroc CEO Hamid Addou celebrated the new launches, saying the announcement reflects the company’s “strong commitment” to boosting Morocco’s tourism attractions.

These new routes to Europe are an answer to “strong demand” for connectivity to help strengthen economic, tourist, and human exchanges between Morocco and Europe, Abdou explained.

He added that the routes are in line with the airline’s plan seeking to position RAM as a “global carrier.”

The new routes cover nine Spanish cities, including Valencia, Malaga, Sevilla, Las Palmas, Tenerife, Bilbao, Alicante, in addition to Madrid and Barcelona.

These Spanish routes will be connected to Moroccan cities, including Casablanca, Laayoune, Tangier, Tetouan, and Nador.

The new connections will total over 80 weekly flights.

In addition to Spain, Royal Air Maroc will also connect Morocco’s Casablanca, Nador, and Oujda with three German cities, including Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, and Munich.

The number of flights serving between the aforementioned destinations will be 35 on a weekly basis.

The statement concluded by celebrating the expansion as an announcement that would consolidate the carrier’s role as a “strategic air bridge between Morocco and Europe,” detailing that RAM will connect between Malaga and Tangier on Mondays and Fridays starting July 7.

For the Tangier-Madrid flights, the airline will serve between the two destinations on Mondays and Saturdays starting September 7. It will meanwhile connect between Tangier and Barcelona every Monday and Friday starting July 3.

Flights between Nador and Barcelona will take place on Thursdays and Saturdays starting September 10.

The airline will connect Nador and Frankfurt three days a week, namely on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, starting July 2; while Nador and Düsseldorf flights will operate on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, starting July 11.
