Sibanye-Stillwater secures A2X secondary listing from Oct. 6
South Africa's secondary equities market is adding another large mining stock as Sibanye-Stillwater prepares to begin trading on A2X from Oct. 6, 2026. The move broadens trading access for investors without changing the group's primary JSE listing or its issued share capital.
A2X approval expands trading access
As reported by Moneyweb, citing A2X, Sibanye-Stillwater has received approval for a secondary listing on the exchange, adding the JSE-listed precious metals producer to its market from Oct. 6, 2026.
The R117 billion group has operations, projects and investments across five continents. Its primary listing remains on the JSE, and the company said the secondary listing does not affect its total issued share capital.
Sibanye-Stillwater joins a group of major South African mining companies already available on A2X, including Gold Fields, Impala Platinum, Harmony Gold and AngloGold Ashanti.
Mining sector presence on A2X grows
The addition takes A2X's total number of tradable instruments to 167 and lifts its roster of FTSE/JSE Top 40 constituents to 31, with a combined market capitalisation of more than R12 trillion.
Kevin Brady, chief executive of A2X, said the listing reflects growing issuer confidence in the platform as a cost-effective secondary market. He said the new listing gives investors greater choice in how they access one of South Africa's leading mining companies.
Our earlier coverage of leadership changes across South Africa’s major retailers highlighted how Spar, Pick n Pay and Woolworths reshuffled top management as competition and turnaround pressure intensified. We noted that these moves aimed to restore profitability and improve execution as rivals increased pricing and expansion efforts and new store rollouts added to the fight for shoppers.
